More than two dozen of today’s most sought-after screenwriters are featured in an intriguing, original interview series hosted by veteran producer and industry executive Mike De Luca, the first six segments available as an exclusive DVD package now via www.thedialogueseries.com. The Dialogue: Learning From The Masters was created by screenwriter and entrepreneur Aleks Horvat and produced with his partner, personal manager Larry Shuman. Horvat, owner of theOffice, also created the Hollywood Creative Directory.

Shot on location at theOffice, a popular creative workspace in Santa Monica that is a haven for screenwriters, the 27-part series offers provocative and in-depth one-on-one conversations with successful practitioners of the craft; Paul Haggis (Crash), Robin Swicord (Memoirs of A Geisha), the Farrelly Brothers (Dumb and Dumber There’s Something About Mary), Ted Griffin (Matchstick Men; Ocean’s 11), Scott Rosenberg (High Fidelity) and Nia Vardolas (My Big Fat Greek Wedding).

“We present down and dirty interviews with screenwriters that really know the score. I have had the pleasure of working with many of these respected writers and am thrilled to be able to interview such great talent. The Dialogue gives the audience a lot of info about the business and the politics behind it. It is a rare opportunity for the audience to sit down with screenwriters, hear stories, and learn practical aspects of the craft,” said Mike De Luca.

Each of the hour plus segments reveal tips from the pros on the screenwriter’s craft, as well as life in the trenches in the film business. Among the keys to success covered in the interviews are character development, story structure, pitching, treatments, story beats, inspiration, writer’s block, and Hollywood politics, offering an innovative take on the “master class”, presented in an intimate, no-holds-barred Q&A format. Additionally, each screenwriter has handpicked a scene from one of his/her produced films to use as a focal point of the conversation highlighting the screenwriter’s tips on his trade.
